From the New York Times, Science Times: A sail boat made out of recycled materials, the Plastiki, with 3 sources of renewable energy (wind, solar and pedal generators) will make it’s voyage across the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Australia to raise awareness for ocean-borne plastic waste. It also has a sprout garden on deck.
They leave in March. The voyage is expected to last 100 days.
I wonder who I would have had to blow to be on that boat …
